SPOT REPORT: California- Power Outage-Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) – Southern California– Initial
REPORT DATE/TIME: Wednesday, October 30, 2019, 1445 PDT
LOCATION: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Kern, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.
DESCRIPTION/BLUF:
- A Public Safety Power Shutoff was initiated by SCE on 10/29/2019 at 0246 and may extend through 11/03/2019.
- Anticipated impacts include:
- 76 circuits, affecting 71,058 customers.
- 1,246 Medical Baseline customers
- 770 Critical Care facilities.
STATE/LOCAL RESPONSE: The California EOC is at Full Activation. There are no unmet needs. There have been no requests for FEMA assistance.
FEDERAL RESPONSE: The FEMA Region IX RWC is at Normal Operations. The RWC will continue to monitor this event and will provide updates as needed.
- Federal Response: FEMA RIX IMAT-1 has been deployed to the California State Operations Center (SOC) in support of operations.
